About Linlin
Pianist I Ling Wu attended Guangfu Elementary School and Shuangshi Junior High School in Taichung, followed by the music program at Tainan National University of the Arts. She graduated with a Master’s degree from the Queensland Conservatoire of Australia. Her major was piano, and she studied under Professors Chen Guan-yu, Chen Min-hua, and Guo Zong-kai, as well as Russian pianist Natasha Vlassenko.
Linlin began learning piano as a child under her mother’s tutelage and later studied electronic keyboard under Ms. Bai Mei-li at Yamaha Music Education. In her compositional career, she has represented Taiwan in international performances, including at the YAMAHA I.J.O.C (International Junior Original Concert) in Japan and the A.O.J.O.C (Asia Junior Original Concert) in Southeast Asia.
During her studies at the Queensland Conservatoire, she received a scholarship from the conservatory and won numerous piano competition awards, including finalist in the 2007 Lev Vlassenko International Piano Competition, third place in the 2004 Gold Coast Open Piano Competition, first place in the BRASIL JONES SONATA PRIZE, first place in the 2003 Brisbane Piano Accompaniment Association Competition, third place in the 1997 Association of Pianists and Piano Teacher of America I.N.S. Youth Group, and first place in the 1995 Victory Piano Competition.
After returning to Taiwan in 2010, she devoted herself to writing and performing. She worked as a composer at Shin-Dian Information Co., Ltd., and wrote teaching materials for the Lien Ya-Wen percussion teaching system. In 2012, she arranged music for the “Love and Music Series 2: Mother’s Classroom” promotional event held by Quaker Oats. In 2013, she arranged music for the Chiao Lien Chih teaching materials. That same year, she was commissioned by the Hsiao Tai-Jan Foundation to arrange “Mother’s Hair” for orchestra. She has also served as an arranger for the If Kids Theatre and the Taichung Classical Orchestra. In recent years, she has collaborated with the Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra (TPSO) on numerous arrangements.
Linlin has held numerous book signings and exhibitions of her works. In 2012, she released her chamber music album “Four Seasons.” Following the album’s release, she received numerous invitations and began touring throughout Taiwan. In 2015, she held two solo piano recitals and a launch event for her album “Zen Sounds” in Shenzhen.
In 2018, she composed the piano score “Zen Sounds,” which was released in China; released the global digital album “Bedtime Stories”; managed her Facebook fan page and YouTube channel “Five-Minute Piano”; and her exclusive original and arranged scores received widespread acclaim online.
In 2025, she performed a full-length Anita Mui memorial concert in Singapore, also serving as the arranger. In September of the same year, she was a guest pianist at the Taipei Music Center for “Nodame Cantabile,” performing Rachmaninoff piano concerto no. 2 and Gershwin Blue Rhapsody.
